Explorer Time: A Great Way to Learn and Connect
By Maria, Year 7
Many students see Explorer as a chance to relax, but it is actually much more than that. Explorer gives students opportunities to learn new things, meet different people, and discuss important topics that affect school life.
Explorer is a class where students from different year groups come together before morning break. It creates a space where students can work together and learn in a more relaxed environment.
During Explorer, students take part in different activities and discussions. For example, students may talk about environmental issues around the school, discuss important topics, and on Thursdays take part in PSHE lessons, where they learn about wellbeing and other useful life skills.
Explorer also includes enjoyable activities where students can talk with each other, play games, and share their opinions. These activities help students feel more comfortable and encourage teamwork and communication.
Explorer takes place every day of the week except Wednesdays and days when there is an assembly. Because it happens regularly, students have many opportunities to participate and get involved.
There are many positive things about Explorer. One of the best parts is that students get the chance to meet new people from different year groups. Students can also learn interesting topics that they might not normally discuss in regular lessons. It also gives students a calmer moment during the school day where they can relax and enjoy learning in a different way.
However, there are also some areas that could improve. There could be more variety in the activities and learning sessions so students have even more opportunities to meet different people and explore a wider range of topics.
Overall, Explorer is a valuable part of school life. It helps students learn, connect with others, and enjoy new experiences, but with a few changes and more variety, it could become even better.
